The Nature of Ibiza
Author: Lisa
In the air, underwater or on the water, the island of Ibiza is the place to experience life and leisure. The island sits in the Mediterranean sea and of the Balearic Islands it is one of four off the coast of mainland Spain. All four, Majorca, Ibiza, Minorca and Formentara are well known tourist destinations. Tourism has grown exponentially over the last 50 or 60 years in this area due to that fact that it is a brilliant location for vacationers from colder climates and there are package deals available now through agencies, making attainable to the not so rich and famous, the paradise and adventure of a lifetime. All four have gained over the years, reputations for being the all-night party and dance locations. This is known throughout all of Europe and is becoming quite known all over the world. From the club, to the restaurant to the 5 star hotel Ibiza has become a place for people to party and eat grand Spanish cuisine and rest. However, there is much more to this island to be enjoyed in the great outdoors, and that happens during one of the 300 sunny days throughout the year.
During the day one can enjoy a myriad of opportunities to take in and absorb the islands natural beauty. From the air, through para sailing or hang gliding or helicopter tours, the island shows off its greenery, the lush landscapes. The blue of water is much to behold. Crystal clear azure, spotted with the occasional cloud or ocean break. The thrill of being part of it all with nothing but man-made wings, just re-in forces the experience. And if seeing this wonder from the sky is incredible, try diving into it, literally. The island offers up many classes and tours, through resorts or private companies, for jumping right into it all. For the sports minded or thrill seekers there is a variety of options. Try jet skiing around a cove or lagoon, or water-skiing past the loungers on the beach. There are jeep tours and mountain bike trails, even horse back adventures.
For those who wish a more tranquil experience, there are many seaside spas. Be it a massage right on the beach or some meditation on a hilltop. Snorkeling provides a peaceful experience of the ocean and all its wonders, although, there are many opportunities for deep sea diving. For those who wish to experience the ocean above the water, catamaran and banana boats offer up it up as well. Stay dry and view the wonder atop a boat, of any sort. These islands have provided humans throughout the world to escape. To escape and investigate and relax. Be it from the sky, the earth or the water, Ibiza has held on to the reputation of the right, and beautiful thing to do and the right, and most beautiful place to do it.
